How buying a golf cart through RGMZ works

A golf cart is a considered purchase. Priced carts can be added to the same order as golf equipment, while models without a confirmed price route to an enquiry. Before payment or delivery is arranged, RGMZ confirms the exact unit, condition, battery state and availability.

The checkout prepares a clear order summary and sends it to RGMZ by WhatsApp or email. It does not collect card details or pretend that delivery and warranty terms have been confirmed; those details are agreed directly for the specific cart.

Buying for an estate, resort, club or hospitality operation? Fleet and multi-unit requirements are handled directly by the RGMZ team. Not sure which configuration is right first? How to choose a golf cartcovers seating, electric vs petrol and lithium vs lead-acid.

Common golf cart questions

How much does a golf cart cost in South Africa?

RGMZ currently lists carts from R95,900 to R236,900 including VAT. The spread is driven mostly by seating (2 vs 4 vs 6), battery type (lead-acid vs lithium) and condition (refurbished, demo or new) rather than by brand.

Do I need a licence to drive a golf cart in South Africa?

On private property — an estate, a golf course, a private road — no licence is required. If a cart will ever be driven on a public road, check your municipality's rules first; requirements vary and RGMZ does not sell carts pre-certified for public roads.

How long does a golf cart battery last?

A well-maintained lead-acid pack typically lasts a few seasons before capacity drops enough to notice. A lithium pack usually lasts substantially longer and needs no watering or terminal maintenance in the meantime — see our lithium battery guide for the full comparison.

Is a refurbished golf cart a good buy?

Yes, provided the refurbishment is documented. Ask specifically what was replaced — particularly the battery pack — before buying. Refurbished fleet carts are reconditioned units from golf-course fleets that are maintained on a schedule, which is why they are the value sweet spot in this market.
